AUGUST, 2014

During the month of August, Serve Samman’s major stepping stone was entering the field of Education and opening a new center in Delhi Uttarakhand. During this month, it also proudly completed a year of ‘The Mentorship Program’, wherein our little children went and taught the lesser privileged ones.

Serve Samman Entered the Field of Education - Serve Samman for the first time in its history took a step towards educating the younger generation. Hence, they decided to adopt 30 underprivileged kids, who would be going to school for the first time. Along with this, they also decided to provide coaching to junior and middle school children. Its aim behind entering the education stream is to provide quality education to children. It also aims to provide educational support outside school for those children who are already in mainstream school, but do not have access to any other such resources.

Serve Samman Opens a New Centre at South-Delhi – In order to fulfill its dream of educating children, Serve Samman along with Fena Foundation opened up, a new educational and vocational training centre at Tuglakabad in the South Delhi region. The official inauguration took place on August 29, 2014 followed by a lunger. The registration for the centre began post the inauguration, and it gives us immense pride to share with you all that the response towards the center was extremely overwhelming. Within the first day itself, we got over 200 queries! Registrations are still open at this Serve Samman centre, and it is currently recruiting staff and welcoming volunteers, so if you know anyone who would be interested in the above categories, please do feel free to contact us!

Serve Samman Becomes a Member of the Advisory Board of Swach Bharat Mission by India CSR Group - Serve Samman is very proud and excited to be an integral part of the Swach Bharat Mission, which is an initiative in line with the Prime Minister’s vision. India CSR, a leading online CSR news portal group, is launching a campaign called ‘Sanitation for All - Toilet First’. We feel honored to be amongst the very few NGOs who are partners as well as on the advisory board of this national mission.

Description Celebrating One Year of Mentorship Program - We are very happy to announce that we have successfully completed one year of our unique mentorship program. During this one year, our kids have been going to the slums/NGOs, and teaching the underprivileged children. This program was started a year back with the noble aim to instill confidence in children coming from all walks of life. Today, we see a major change in our little trainers, who from ignorant brats have now become empathetic and mature mini-adults. Their little students can now read English as well as Hindi books by themselves solely, and have peers whom they look up to. It has been overwhelming to see these kids work together. We thank all the parents who let their kids be a part of this useful program!
