Disaster Relief

Serve Samman is actively involved in providing relief assistance in disaster hit areas. As of now, we have helped the victims of Nepal Earthquake, Uttrakhand floods and Jammu & Kashmir floods. We provide them with safe shelter, hot meals, essential relief supplies, emotional support and health services like first aid and medicines. Trained Serve Samman workers often meet up with families to develop individual plans, identify and implement available resources to enable quick recovery.

Uttarakhand Floods (2013) Team was present for a vocational centre opening when the disaster struck. Set up relief camps providing shelter, food, utensils, clothes, first aid, and emotional support. Sent 12 trucks of relief material. Assisted approximately 34,377 people. Also cared for affected cattle. Jammu & Kashmir Floods (2014) Sent relief consignments every 5 days to Kashmir. Focused on remote villages: Poonch and Rajouri. Distributed medicines, dry food, tarps, blankets, clothes, milk powder, water, and chlorine tablets. Provided medical treatment and built temporary safe spaces for women and children. Dr. Rachna Khanna Singh (Governing Board Member, Homeopathic Specialist & Psychologist) led a medical camp in Srinagar. Nepal Earthquake Relief Partnered with Bareilly Mission Hospital. Set up medical and relief camps in Dhulikhel, Kamal Dhanda, and Sindupal Chowk – remote villages over 3 hours from Kathmandu. First relief team to reach these areas. 8-member team carried over 900 kg of medicines and relief material. Additional 300 kg of rice, oil, and tin sheets purchased locally. Mobile dispensaries provided medication; team included orthopedics, physicians, and psychologists.
